The 111th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 7th May 1919 over the Rowley Mile, was The Panther (10/1), a bay colt by Tracery out of Countess Zia, owned by Sir Alec Black. The winner won by a neck in 1 minute 44.40 secs, with 3/4 length back to the third. A field of 12 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £263,100 in 2017)
